932000 Series, 1977 - 2005.

The 932000 series was Ariens line of compact sno-thros from 1977 to 2005,
it replaced the 22,000 series "compact" machines in 1977.

These were smaller machines than the "full size" 924000 series, generally 20" or 24" buckets,
and smaller engines than the larger 924000 machines. Probably designed and marketed to regions with lighter snowfall amounts, where a larger machine wouldnt be necessary.

The 932000 series was the first series to use the new bucket shape:

I am calling this the "1977 style" bucket, because it was first used on the 932000 series
beginning in 1977. (it also appeared on the full-size 924000 series beginning in 1979)

This style of bucket was then used on all Ariens snowblowers through all of the 1980's,
on the 924000 series through most of the 1990's, and was last used on some 924000 series machines around 2004.

The 932000 series switched to the "modern" style bucket nearly a decade earlier than the 924000 series, the modern bucket first appeared in the 932000 series about 1992.

So only two bucket styles are found on the 932000 series,
the "1977 style" bucket, used from 1977, through all of the 1980's, up until 1992.
and then the "modern" style bucket, used from 1992 until the end of the series in 2005.

1977

Model 932001
2.7HP
20" bucket.
This is probably a 1977 or 1978, since its the earliest of the 932000 series model numbers.

1978

Here is a 1978 932000 series in excellent condition!

Model 932006
Serial 001052
built in 1978.

This machine is owned by Jon of Newark, Ohio and has been owned by three generations
of his family! The machine was bought new by Jon's Grandfather in Utica, NY, in 1978.
It was then passed down to Jon's father, who eventually passed it on Jon when he bought a newer machine . Jon says he intends to pass it down to one of his children as well!
Its still working fine after 30 years. thanks for the pictures Jon!

932000 series Model Numbers and Manuals.

The 932000 series was the "Compact" series, smaller units than the 924000 series.

932000 series Sno-Thro model numbers.  1977-2005

probably not a complete model list!

932004 - ST350 - 3.5 HP SNO-THRO
932006 - ST504 - 5 HP SNO-THRO

Models above known produced 1977 - 1978. (and possibly into the early 80's)
Models below produced after 1978.

932015 - ST 2+2  -  2.5 HP SNO-THRO (First listed in 1984 manuals, probably also produced for a few years after '84)
932016 - ST 5+2
932017 - ST 2+2 ELEC  -  ELECTRIC SNO-THRO  (First listed in 1985 manual.)
932018 - ST 2+2  5HP DELUXE (First listed in 1986 manuals, probably also produced for a few years after '86)

A note on the "2+2" models listed above.
These are among the smallest and simplest 2-stage machines ever built by Ariens.
These are small, 2-stage machines with 2.5 or 3hp engines, and no drive transmission!
the wheels are not powered..the machine is "auger driven", meaning the augers propel the machine
forward while eating into the snow, and the wheels simply free-wheel along.
Im still not sure exactly what "2+2" or "5+2" means.
