How to use this webpage: Roundhouses are listed alphabetically by Railroad name. Then listed generally east to west by Railroad. Roundhouse titles, "LV1" "LV2" etc. are arbitrary, and will probably be used as an ID key on an eventual statewide roundhouse map. Color Key: Green Text = Roundhouse is still standing today. (2010) Orange Text = Facility is demolished, but some remains are still visable, such as the pit or roundhouse foundation. Black Text = All traces are obliterated from the face of the earth, nothing is visible today. Some of the roundhouses and sites are visable from public property (public roads). I will indicate which ones can actually be viewed from public property. however nearly all are on private property, and many are buried deep on property still in use by current railroads. You should never trespass on private property without permission! not only can it be very dangerous, but it can also land you in trouble with the law. The best way to "visit" all these sites is via the comfort of your own chair, in front of your computer. Bing Maps has an excellent "birds eye view" feature that allows you to zoom right in and see great detail, google maps is also excellent.
